*CALL TO WORSHIP
Touch Holiness
The
Holy Spirit has given us life and pours on us the power to become new people!
The winds of the Spirit have given us breath; the fire of
the Spirit
kindles in us love for God and for each other.
Let
us worship here in faithfulness and be ready for the surprises that
God’s
Spirit brings.
We open our lives to the presence of God. We trust God’s promise that
we can live new lives of freedom and grace. May God help us to be true
people of spirit, letting holy surprises fill our days!
*HYMN # 288

*CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE Touch Holiness
God
has always been there for us, loving us and calling us. Let us tell God all
about
ourselves,
leaving nothing out.
Ever living God, you have given us life
itself, and have asked us to be life-giving
people in your name. But we have cared
more about ourselves and the comfort
we have than about your people in every
place. There are people even in our very
presence who are left out of our
thoughts and prayers. Our hearts and minds are
too crowded with all the things that
make us feel self-satisfied. People in our
streets go hungry but we make sure we
are full before we even think about them.
Give us the purpose that you gave to
people of Jesus’ time: to be faithful disciples
in your care. In the name of Christ we pray.
(time for
silent, personal confession) Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF WHOSE WE ARE AND THE PEACE
Neither this world nor our
lives are so broken that God cannot restore them to
wholeness. Trust and believe
that even if we are separated, God works reconciliation
and shows us the way home. In
the name of Christ Jesus, your sin is forgiven.
Thanks
be to God!
The peace of our Lord Jesus
Christ be with you all.
Peace be with you.
(worshipers
exchange words and gestures of peace)
