Psalm
130: 5, 6
I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,

my

*CALL TO WORSHIP
Chalice Worship
We gather to worship in many needs and in many moods:
Some
are ready to shout: “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord…”
Some echo the psalmist’s anguish:
“Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice…”
Some are looking for guidance and direction from the Word of
God:
“More to be desired are they than gold…
sweeter also than honey from the honeycomb…”
Some long passionately to be close to God:
“As
a deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you, O God…”
God stands ready and able to respond to our needs.
In
that assurance, let us worship God.
*HYMN # 455 (Verses 1-4) All Creatures of our God and King
*CONFESSION OF WHO WE on Psalm 130 jcs
With the psalmist, we cry out of our depths to you, O
Lord.
Lord, hear our voices.
Let
your ears be attentive to the voices of our supplications!
Lord, if you really tallied up how we have behaved,
we’d
be doomed. We can’t look you straight in the eye. Thank God,
there is forgiveness in you, and it is for your honor and glory!
(time for
silent, personal confession) Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF WHOSE WE ARE AND THE PEACE on Psalm 130 jcs
O Lord, we put our hope in you, because you love us with
an everlasting love.
God has great power to save us. God will save us from all our sins!
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
And also with you!
(worshipers
exchange words and gestures of peace)
