Please welcome them warmly to this ministry of caring at a reception in the Narthex after today’s worship service.

COLLEGE STUDENTS NEED YOUR HELP - Do you care about what's going on with Presbyterian students at OSU?  A new coalition of six Presbyterian churches in our area is trying to fill the current void of ministry for our OSU students.  So, we are currently looking for a second representative from Overbrook to volunteer with the Presbyterian Campus Ministry Coalition.  Volunteering entails attending the monthly Coalition meetings and helping schedule the continued programming of the campus ministry.  There are no age or alumni qualifications, we simply need someone who cares about OSU students and wants to encourage their faith development through the college years.  If you're interested or would like more information, please contact Pastor Ludwig.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR MISSION!  Overbrook has several up-coming opportunities for further serving in God's mission.  Look at your calendars now to see if you can be available for our second annual weekend mission-trip to Caldwell, OH, the weekend of Aug. 14.  Also, our Presbytery's annual mission work trip will go to Beckley, WV this year on Oct. 9-16.

WE GIVE

OVERBROOK PRESCHOOL holds its Annual Art Show and Open House, Sunday, April 25, from 1 to 3 p.m. Activities include a large display of children’s art, hands-on art activities, sing-a-longs, and children’s entertainment.  In addition to the fun and lively activities, there will be a Silent Auction of themed baskets. Proceeds from the auction provide scholarships in memory of Michael Breschi and funding for the Arts in the Preschool Program to bring artists into the preschool for special art activities.

CONVERSATION TIME AFTER WORSHIP – Join us in the Chapel if you’d like to talk more about anything from the worship service. This week you may want to consider:

  1. If you were to imagine yourself as a disciple in a locked room being afraid the authorities would break in at any moment, and Jesus came in and said “Peace be with you”, what would you think? How would you feel? What would his peace be like?
  2. What do you make of the image of Jesus’ imparting the Holy Spirit to the disciples by breathing on them?
  3. Jesus sends the disciples out to minister to the world. Discuss similarities and differences between Jesus ministering to the disciples, the disciples ministering to the world, and the Stephen Ministry program at Overbrook.

YOUNG ADULT CAMP OUT - Saturday, May 15, at the John Beltz Retreat. Tents, campfires, s’mores, corn-hole and fun times; what more could you ask for? Get the word out to your young adults and young at heart. Contact Pastor Ludwig if interested.
