4th NIGHT TAIZE WORSHIP – April 25, relaxing and meditative Taize Service begins at 6:15 p.m. in the Sanctuary.  Faith & Fiction Group discusses Mary Karr’s The Liars’ Club: A Memoir at 7 p.m. in the Library.

 

COLLEGE STUDENTS NEED YOUR HELP - Do you care about what's going on with Presbyterian students at OSU?  We are currently looking for a second representative from Overbrook to volunteer with the newly formed Presbyterian Campus Ministry Coalition.  Volunteering entails semi-monthly meetings to help schedule the continued programming of the campus ministry.  Please contact Pastor Ludwig for more information.

 

AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD BUS comes to Overbrook parking lot, Mon., May 3, from 12 – 6 p.m.  To donate blood, call the office, 261-1040 or Preschool office 261-1029.

 

SPRING CLEAN UP DAY MAY 15, 9 A.M. TO 12 NOON scheduled by  Properties Committee.  Come help plant flowers and spread mulch to beautify our church yard.

HEALTHY COOKING WITH CHILDREN (4 years and older) – Thurs., May 13 @ 5:30 p.m. You don’t have to have a child to participate – just one in heart and spirit.  Jim Warner, head chef at The Ohio State University, will give cooking instruction with a focus on easy recipes that can be prepared in your kitchen with your kids. Cost is free. A light meal will be served before class begins. Sign-up in the church office to reserve your seat. Space is limited so sign-up today!

 

WAY TO GO! Overbrook Softball Team is off to a great start, opening defense of our Monday Night Church League Championship with a 17 to 6 victory over Summit United Methodist. Next game Mon., April 26, 6:15 p.m. at Whetstone Diamond #1 against Clinton Heights Lutheran.  Thanks to Rev. Michael, Rachel & Adeline for seeing us kick off our season.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS MEETING – May 2 at 11:45 a.m. in Room 101. We begin plans for our voyage on a pirate ship with Veggie Tales characters. We needs lots of crew members, so if interested, join us on May 2.

 

MOZART’S SPRING FUNDRAISER to benefit Clintonville Community Resources Center – May 5, 2010, 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.  Enjoy music by Paul Love Trio, a delicious Mozart’s European dinner, fine wines & coffees, Mozart’s infamous desserts. Admission: $45/individual, $80/couple, or $250 for a sponsorship which includes admission for two. Call CRC at 268-3539 for reservations.

 

BREAKFAST WITH SOMEONE SPECIAL – Mother’s Day – May 9, 2010. Join the Christian Education Committee in Fellowship Hall at 9:30 a.m. to enjoy a continental breakfast with someone special. Children sing during worship with their special someone. We wish all women of God a happy Mother’s Day.

 

YOUNG ADULT CAMP OUT – Saturday, May 15, at the John Beltz Retreat. Tents, campfires, s’mores, corn-hole and fun times; what more could you ask for?  Get the word out to your young adults and young at heart. Contact Pastor Ludwig if interested.

 

SAVE THE DATE!! At its February meeting, Session received Jon Siehl’s letter of resignation from active ministry effective May 31, 2010.  To celebrate Jon’s years of service to Christ and to Overbrook ministry and mission, Personnel and Session have planned a lunch in his honor, following worship May 23, 2010. It will be our opportunity to formally say thank you to Jon and Judy.  We hope you will be able to attend.
