LET’S GO KROGERING! Every little bit counts! Do you ever shop at Kroger? If so, you can sign up to help Overbrook earn monetary contributions.  Overbrook is now part of the Kroger Community Rewards Program, earning contributions from the Kroger Company based on the amount of money our participating members spend when using their Kroger Plus Card.  This program does not affect your Kroger Plus Reward Points in any way, so it is harmless to you but could be very helpful to the Church.  You can sign up to participate on the internet at http:// www.krogercommunityrewards.com. You must have a Kroger Plus Shoppers card to register and participate so get yours out and sign up to participate now. If you do not have access to the online sign-up method, please call 1-800-837-4483 to learn about the alternative sign-up method.  We will soon have a link on the Church web site, www.overbrookchurch.org, just click on the “SUPPORT OVERBROOK THROUGH THE KROGER COMMUNITY REWARDS PROGRAM and see how we can earnlink on the home page. Thank you for your support and cooperation.  Michael Johnson, Stewardship Chair.

CONVERSATION TIME AFTER WORSHIP in the Chapel.  Did something in the service touch you, cause you to reflect?  Did God speak in prayer, music, Scripture, sermon?  We’ll start discussion with these questions:

  1. “Seek the Lord while he may be found…” writes Isaiah.  Seeking the Lord may be like seeking a missing child in terms of both urgency and frustration.  Seeking may benefit from awareness of God’s nearness.  Have you ever been keenly aware of God’s nearness?  How did you become aware?  When?  What does it look like for you to seek God urgently and with frustration?

  1. “Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy?” asks the God who invites or commands, “Everyone…come” even those who have no money.  How do you answer?  Have you spent your life, your you, for less than bread or satisfaction?

MISSION TRIP TO KENTUCKY- This year's youth mission trip will be the week of June 13-19. We'll be traveling to the town of Hazard, KY and working on house repair or construction with the local Housing Development Alliance.  Bob (Bo) Glaeser and Michael (Luke) Ludwig (who will now be referred to as the "Dukes of Hazard") will be in charge of the youth.  However, we're also opening this mission trip to adults, so if you are interested in being part of God's mission to the "102nd poorest county in the nation," please contact one of the "Dukes."
