*CALL TO WORSHIP
mctl/Luke
4: 1-14
It is written, “Worship the Lord your God, and serve only
him.”
We come today to worship and serve the
Lord our God.
It is said, “Do not put the Lord your God to the test.”
We come today to trust and depend on the
Lord our God.
It is written, “One does not live by bread alone.”
We come today to share in our Lord’s
Supper and feast on the Word of God.
*PROCESSIONAL HYMN # 470 O Day of Radiant Gladness
*CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE
Lord,
we are tempted;
But we pray - lead us not into temptation.
Lord,
we fall short in following you;
But we pray – bear us up so we don’t dash
our feet on stone.
Lord,
we struggle with using power selfishly;
But we pray - help us to be more dependent
on you than independent.
Lord,
we aren’t deserving on our own;
But we pray – forgive us our sins as we
forgive those who sin against us.
(time for silent, personal confession) Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF WHOSE WE ARE & THE PEACE
Hear the Good News from the Book of Romans:
If you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and
believe in your heart that God
raised him from the dead, you
will be saved.
For one believes with the heart and so is
justified, and one confesses with the
mouth and so is
saved.
The scripture says, “Everyone who calls on the name of
the Lord shall be saved.”
Thank God!
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be
with you.
And also with you.
(worshipers
share words and gestures of the peace of Christ)
